LLANOS DE CORTES

1h50 driving from Tamarindo

This waterfall definitely worth a little visit. You will love its little space of white sandy beach, and swim close to the fall. The water is very refreshing after a short 5 minutes hike down.

Many locals are spending time there, having a picnic, and hang out. Great place to take pictures if you go early.

An other spot to swim in the jungle, is as well accessible on the way.

LA LEONA

2h driving from Tamarindo

This waterfall is accessible after a walk of 2,5km on a very beautiful trail, through canyons and caves, crossing swimming a turquoise water river to reach the spot. You will need a guide, not optional, to watch your steps and secure the trip a little bit adventurous. They provide you dry bags, but you need shoes to walk in the water.

Very touristy but still a must do waterfall.

  • No pet allowed

  • High: 90 ft / 25 meters

EL SANTUARIO

2h45 driving from Tamarindo

The most esthetic waterfall in my opinion. The rocks are sculted with such grace, pure art nature! It's called La Cathedrale mainly because the view inside of the canyon reminds of a cathedral.

There are two ways to access the waterfall: through the mountain (around 2-4 hours). The other option, that we took, is through a orange tree field culture, just 10 min walking.

You have to taste the oranges in abondance, so juicy and naturally sweet!

  • Entry fee: 25$ / 10.000 colones (add 5000c for the lunch)

  • Tours: at 9am / 11am /1pm

  • No pet allowed

  • High: 60 ft / 18 meters

LOS PARGOS Adventure

45min driving from Tamarindo

The main point of this tour is the walk, crossing many rivers, through a nice tropical dry forest. After 12 kilometers walking, there is a beautiful small waterfall, where to jump and swim. That's the closest waterfall of Tamarindo. But still very secret, you will be the only one there as the tour is private.

Javier, naturalist and guide since 25 years, is the only one to propose that treking. He is a fun company and take good care of his visitors.

  • Tour with guide: 60$ / 40.000 colones

  • Tours: contact me for the schedules

  • High: 16 ft / 5 meters
